Vida de Joven de Mexico, San Diego, California

  • Board Member, 2015 to present

  • Serve as director of the Corporation and temporarily as treasurer

  • Counsel (temporary assignment): Advised regarding corporate formation and prepared governing documents for Vida Joven de Mexico as a California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation.

  • Vida Joven de Mexico raises funds for and operates an orphanage in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico that houses, protects, educates and provides loving care for 25-40 children whose parents are in prison or who otherwise have neglected or rejected them.   • Translate (Spanish to English) for psychologist evaluating the mental health of asylum-seekers from Latin America

  • Parliamentarian, June 2008 – June 2010

  • Advised PTA members of bilingual immersion elementary school regarding compliance with PTA rules

  • Led committee to revise by-laws

  • Drafted by-laws and standing rules to conform to school community needs

  • Served on the PTA Board of Directors
